Polymorph - Gender Adjectives

Post by Glim » Wed Oct 10, 2007 5:24 am

Hello,

I would like to suggest, if this is possible, that gender be removed from the adjective when you are polymorphed. Then, if a player wished to, they could include the gender with the spell. This would allow a player to have just a bit more creativity when polymorphing as well as allowing a player to become a bit less discernable from a standard mobile, if they so choose.

Thanks,

I'm not sure on this one myself

Change Sex allows gender to be adjusted if the player desires it, whereas removing gender completely has some pitfalls.

Before I expand on that, can you say what you think could be achieved by making a PC 'look' less like a PC and more like a mob?

Some people use polymorph to blend in with the surroundings and to even go places and watch people without them noticing. (cast 'polymorph' fly on the wall) People in the game do not really notice mobs, but as soon as they see someone with that gender in their adjective they immediately think "Oh look! It has a gender! That means it is a polymorphed character!" And even if people try hard to not let this affect their roleplay, it still will sometimes.

This wouldn't really affect those who still want the gender, as they could still include it if they wanted to.

Oh, and I really am using shapechange and polymorph as basically the same thing there. What applies to one, applies to the other.
