[FEAT] Augment Healing

Post by Alvirin » Thu Sep 06, 2007 12:28 am

You are better at healing, you are lightly better at the following spells/prayers:

-Cure light wounds
-Cure moderate wounds
-Cure Serious wounds
-Cure critical wounds
-Heal
-Mass Cure Light
-Mass Cure Moderate
-Mass Cure Serious
-Mass Cure Critical
-Mass Heal

This feat doesn't grant access to these spells/prayers, you must train them with the proper trainers.

Hey! Don't forget about evils! How about Augment Harming?!?

Not in favor of "Far Heal" of "Far Hurt" for that matter.

To my knowledge farheal is already a prayer in the game. At least it was at one point before the new spell system, I remember being the target of it. But it wasn't a commonly known prayer, I believe it could only be learned from deity avatars.

It is possible that far heal is in-game, I haven't checked. The problem I see with such things is that it defeats the purpose of grouping with a cleric if the cleric can just fix you when you are far away.

It's a spell available to clerics of Lathander and Yondalla at the moment, as a domain spell. It's level 9 which means that they can memorize one of them, at most. It's the sort of thing you use for an emergency if someone is desperate as far as I understand, not just a way to keep your party going without heading back to town for healing. Personally I've never seen it cast on anyone.

These are the spells available to the renewal domain:

Level One - Revive
Level Two - Resilience
Level Three - Restoration
Level Four - Sustain
Level Five - Heal
Level Six - Regenerate
Level Seven - Rejuvenation
Level Eight - Mass Heal
Level Nine - Farheal

But if we type help mass heal....

Mass Heal
=========
Conjuration (Healing)
Range: Touch
Target: Defensive
Syntax: cast 'mass heal'

This spell can be used in two ways. Either, by specifying a target, it
can act by granting the healing of hitpoints to just one person or it can
(if the caster does not specify a target) affect everyone the caster is
grouped with.

It might just be too early for me, Alvirin. But I don't get what you are pointing out in your last post. That mass heal is normally a ninth level spell but it is an 8th level domain spell for renewal?

This sounds reasonable. Thanks for the info. Looks like I need to take some time learning more about my followers' abilities.

I had thought I read that farheal was logged somewhere, but I cant find it.

I have seen farheal used twice by a HP of Torm I believe, on someone that was stunned and bleeding to death to keep them from dieing.

It is not logged.

The spell is only available as a level 9 domain to two domains, one being racial, and as a level 9 spell to some cleric guilds, not all. I see no issue to adding it the list. We shouldn't design our suggestions around code abusers, instead deal with them in another fashion like setting the abused skills to untrainable(not yet available/another discussion).
