Hand crossbows...

Do hand crossbows come under the crossbows skill?

I acknowledge the fact that this is probably a silly question, but i was just wondering about the mechanics of it as firing a handcrossbow is very different to firing a normal crossbow...

I think codewise they would fall under crossbows. But, you are right, the difference of firing a crossbow and a handcrossbow is like the difference in firing a rifle and a pistol.

Yes, codewise as you put it- hand crossbows fall under the crossbows. To the code there is not much difference between the two.
