Probably not a high priority suggestion, but could staves be added to weaponsmithing?

Staffmaking is a trade in it's own right - but I cannot give you the status on how near/far it is to in game. :)

I think you can make quarter staves with a combination of woodworking and weapon smithing trades.

That is correct. That is the only staff weapon I see in the list, but it can be made with sufficient skill in woodworking (weaponsmithing is not required) and a few pieces of wood.

I was thinking more along the line of being able to craft metallic staves instead of the wooden ones you craft with wood working.
