Enter the spell 'Wizard Eye', made for the wizard who doesn't want to travel down yon trap-riddled corridor of earthly doom to see what kind of monster really is in the room on the other side. The effect is relatively simple. A floating, invisible eye-shaped construct is created, which the caster immediately takes mental control of. The wizard sees through the eye and directs its movements, while his body is kept in a stasis state where he cast the spell. The eye itself has no skills, it cannot speak or cast spells, it cannot grab/hold/wear anything and, it moves as quickly, up to as fast as a running man. Similarly, the eye cannot attack anything. When the spell expires, or the eye is attacked, the eye merely winks out of existence and the wizard's consciousness is taken back to his own body, without ill side effects. As with most spells, the eye can be commanded out of existence prematurely, at the wizard's leisure. I think the command endscry would work well for that.
