Re: Two weapon fighting and the bard class

Vaemar, just to answer your question quickly, from here : If you have had bards in the past and found them underpowered, you're encouraged to dust them off, try out these new spells, and remember that the key idea we're thinking of for the bard is someone who works best in a group. That point taken ...

Re: Two weapon fighting and the bard class

So I absolutely agree, as will anyone who's put real thought into the build, that dual-wielding for fighters, thieves, and even rangers who despite being casters get almost no tohit or dam buffs at all, is a painfully underwhelming style. We've all doubtless seen the GM dueal-wielders with two +2 we...

Re: Two weapon fighting and the bard class

Pally: 15/19/18/10/11/16 With pally spells that's 20/19/20/10/15/20 Would need at least a +1 wis trinket to function but those are super common. Bard: 16/20/17/10/10/16 With spells that's 18/24/19/14/10/20 Cleric: 16/19/16/10/18/10 With spells: 22/19/20/10/22/14 That is all to say, 19 DEX is super n...

Re: Two weapon fighting and the bard class

As an aside, everyone has access to the dual-wielding feat line. For whatever reason they're tagged as general feats and not given by class as something like heavy armor optimisation is. To answer the main question, though, I imagine bards being potentially too good with dual wielding, just like pal...

Re: Kelemvorite Meeting

You who serve or would serve our Lord Judge Kelemvor: Too oft do we all forget to remember. Too scarcely do we give due to those who have come and gone before us. And too many a worthy tale of the dead remain yet untold. The Shepherdess Areia therefore invites you to join in brotherhood and solemn ...

Re: Correct Program spacing

I did the same thing; I was way too used to Python's 4-space indent lol. We use 2-space indentation, so your main block starts at column 1 (no indentation at all), first indent is at column 3, second at 5, etc. I could send you an example by email if you like, since forums aren't very code friendly....

Advice on MPGROUPACTION

I came across this thread just recently. I had no idea this was a thing. Does anyone happen to know whether it is still a thing? And if it is, I wonder if there is reason why it isn't, at least far as I can tell, something most builders use. There is the small inconvenience of having to set qbits et...

1. mpechoaround is missing $n in many places, and $i in others. Using its first appearance as an example... mpechoaround $I cleans a patch on $n readies his needle and ink and sets to inking their tattoo. mpechoat $n $I cleans a patch on you, readies his needle and ink and sets to inking your tattoo...

Though, I will admit that I have not seen these skills abused. And I hope I have not abused or been lumped in with those who have abused these skills. Definitely haven't! :) Sorry for forgetting the "this isn't directed at anyone in particular" caveat I normally add when discussing my experiences. ...

Re: Kismet system, newbies and more

Granted and agreed that even in the rogue base class there is quite a broad range of gimmicks that could be thought up. My own thief for the longest time never even knew how to steal because she was never really a "thief". That said, steal, hide, sneak are all very abusable (and often enough abused)...

Re: Kismet system, newbies and more

As I understand it, the kismet lock on classes is there to prevent new players from playing an overhard class and being pushed away by that. If that were its primary purpose, wizards should probably have been the first ones to be locked. Can't say how many times I've done support on Ask for a new p...

Re: Summon Nature's Ally and rangers

The biggest thing that made me feel kinda eh about the ranger class (I've only tried it out once) as far as the gameplay and mechanics go is that they pretty much feel like a fighter in light armor. I didn't really get the nature-y huntsman sort of feel from it that I used to get from my tabletop ra...

Re: Philosophy of Power-Leveling

Related to Harroghty's mention of robots, here's another point I think warrants raising, though most of us will find it as a statement of the obvious. (It is not directed at any one person or group of persons in particular). Be careful when you're grinding both not to stop paying attention and not t...

That's what I thought. So $o should be the right target, since the prog is on the object itself. >intercept_prog toggle~ if wear_loc($o) != -1 ; $o is being worn/held in inv if objval5($o) == 0 ; Toggle the value mposet on $n $o value5 1 else mposet on $n $o balue5 0 endif mpecho stuff else ; $o is ...
