Re: Second Starvation Festivities - LEVEL TWENTY!

I can't say I have the time to roll up another PC at the moment, but I would love to see and support (or work to denounce, depending on the alt ;) another event like this.

Re: Dismissable Familiars

I agree fully. I saw a conversation on this same topic the other day, and the player's feelings on familiars boiled down to, "I don't care if it won't boost my skills or have super SR or whatever, I just want a familiar to RP with." I think that rings true for pretty much any dedicated wizardly RPer...

Re: The Grand Malarite Trophy Leagues: First Hunt

I thought it was a great idea, personally. Malar's is a pretty wide-ranging faith ethically, and this seemed a good way to involve more people with a somewhat more neutral-leaning show of his dogma. Not that I'm even remotely an expert on Malar. But there are many different ways to roleplay faith in...

[obj] A Copper Torque with a Heart-Shaped Ruby

Areia received this item from a special area a couple years ago. It's supposed to cast heal and always has done, except now it seems not to do anything at all. This necklace is made of copper of thick square piece of copper attached together. A thumb-sized heart of ruby is inset in the center of the...

Invulnerable Trolls

I seem to recall this happening before a little bit ago, but I'm not sure what caused it. It looks like trolls are immune to being damaged again, at least by melee weapons. This is a troll in the Stump Bog; I did not want to risk doom by testing other trolls, but I suspect more than only these might...

Re: A question about Sandrew's description of the Faith Levels

As well, a fair number of the major temples out there might also have some special faith gear restricted by faith rank or some other criteria like order which generally require a middling to high rank to be a part of. It's not really the question at hand, but for what it's worth, I really do like th...

Re: ASCII Art Descriptions

Yeah, it's sort of the same trouble we have with the mem list and really anything color-coded. Some screen readers can't detect font/color/attributes at all, while others can, but for some that can, the user has to choose between constant announcing of color changes, which far more often than not ge...

Re: ASCII Art Descriptions

Aha, that's perfect. Sighted users will not even see it. Thanks for the thought! :)

I'll start looking into these, then. More feedback's always welcome.

ASCII Art Descriptions

I imagine ASCII art is super cool for sighted folks, but for blind users it can be, at best, a bummer, if not a hinderance to playing the game really. It's an awkward albeit minor inconvenience to have to come up with IC explanations for how my PC never knew what picture was hanging up in her own te...

Event Calendar

I used to check the calendar every couple of days for heads-ups on upcoming events, but it seems it's not been working since the website changes. Or maybe it is working fine and some change made it unreadable by my screen reader.

Is anyone else having similar problems? Missing events makes me sad.

Person One: This aging mage is a successful business man from a large city. Did anyone else guess Mers on this one?! Person Ten: This commanding elf has rust colored hair and copper skin. ... Person Forty Two: He's got some thick golden hair and a very matter-of-fact demeanor. Mixed these up. Elves...

Here's an excellent discussion around running evil PCs and relevant IC and OOC considerations to be made in doing so.

I'm sorry to see the loud and less than helpful tone a minority has chosen to take here, but I agree generally with many of the points raised. I'll tell you, I gave my rose away at the outset, too, because I had a suspicion from the way the rules of engagement were set out that some thieves, probabl...

Thanks, Harroghty. The new site is a giant PITA to navigate but I managed eventually with your help. Re: RE: Tracking in Waterdeep

I designed that room to be a sort of lookout space where, being so high up in the middle of the city, PCs can get a (very) general idea of popular/promanent locations as the city sprawls out beneath their view. There are, as Lirith mentioned, various other rooms with exits flagged as window in Water...
