Re: Possible Poetry Battle?

I'm on the side of that guy that suggested the dock ward alley battle. The dock ward doesn't receive enough PC attention. Also, bards are of all stripes and standards. There is a perception that all bards are trained by colleges because of how the class works here. I'd say thats more or less untrue,...

Re: Max level for ECL races

Speaking specifically to Gwain and Harroghty and giving my subjective two cents. I think that ECL is not a very good measure to actually balance out the power levels of the affected races. I'm unsure what the situation or environment was like in the past. But I have no way of overstating my lack of ...

Moving mobiles

Any chance we could get Tavis and other Hartsvale NPCs to stick to a specific room that is suitable for them? Ditto the Ffolk soldiers in the eastern part of Alaran? I remember mentioning this kind of thing before in passing but don't believe I've actually made it a suggestion. The change is just to...

Would be cool if we could switch characters without logging out and back in.

Re: Druids

As an aside, Areia, I believe all the criticism thus far has been constructive. I don't think anyone here is complaining for complaining's sake with the intention to say that everything is bad and the original makers should not have bothered. As to the comment as to what druids are supposed to be ab...

Re: Druids

Fortunately or unfortunately, dragonskin is a DND spell http://dnd.arkalseif.info/spells/draconomicon--92/dragonskin--1036/ It isn't a group spell though as the target is only supposed to be you and ranged personal. A thing which brewing makes kind of a non limitation but thats another topic. Whethe...

Re: Druids

Indeed, I was mostly curious, never having played one. As to your original post, I believe moving skill / spell lists around a the very least doesn't require hard code, going by how quickly bards got brew / scribe added to their list even though they are not able to use them. So hopefully we'll see ...

Re: Illusionary Pit vs Mass Hold Person

Fair enough, thanks. Is that something we think should be looked at as well? Currently it sounds fair to me since the weapon skills only make your hits more likely to hit and don't necessarily add damage. At least, not that I've seen. So it may not make sense for a skill increase to also increase th...

Re: Illusionary Pit vs Mass Hold Person

Out of interest, how do you actually work out the Dcs for FK spells? Is it skill rank plus spellcasting modifier +1 for spellfocus?

Re: Illusionary Pit vs Mass Hold Person

I don't think the pit should affect flying creatures at all. If you know you're flying and you see a pit, its not goign to do anything to your sensibilities. As for the fix, I just assumed reducing duration would be easier than applying a custom effect, but either or really. I was simply pointing ou...

Re: Elminster Open Discussion

All points are well laid out Sim, one thing I do strongly disagree with though is the health increase vs spell damage. Unless we are going to see a marked increase in the number of spells we can memorize or cantrips no longer have to be memorized and dont' need recharging plus are pumped up in damag...

Re: Uncoded non-priests

I'd be in support for noncoded nonpriests getting the same supplicate options as their clergy couterparts. I'm not entirely supportive of the supplicate system as a whole but thats another thread. More for the sake of consistency and that it makes sense (to me) in anycase that anyone codedly devout ...

Re: Oghma's favor

buying and reading books? I mean, is it any less cheesy than killing thousands of small or low levle NPcs over and over. I'd support Oghmanites getting favor for buying and reading book objects. I'd treat anyone re-reading the same book over and over the same way one would be treated for severely br...
